IMPORTANT: Turn off automatic virus checking and close all applications before installing. ***IMPORTANT*** All FastTrack Schedule 9 files (as well as v8, v7, and v6 files) can be opened in this new update; however, once saved in v9.2.0 or v9.2.2 you cannot revert to a pre v9.1 file format. Thus, if you are exchanging files with other FastTrack Schedule users, they must also be running FastTrack Schedule 9.1 or greater. A FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 Update is free to all registered FastTrack Schedule 9 users. To download the FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 Update, go to: http://www.aecsoftware.com/products/fasttrack/update.asp We recommend that all FastTrack Schedule 9 users update to version 9.2.2. System Requirements ---------------------------------------- To run FastTrack Schedule on a Microsoft Windows operating system, you need: - Computer properly configured and running Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98SE, or Windows NT 4.0. - 16 MB or more of random access memory (RAM) - Color monitor with 1024 x 768 resolution or greater - 60 MB or more of available hard disk space - CD-ROM drive or Internet access To run FastTrack Schedule on a Macintosh computer, you need: - Macintosh computer with an Intel or PowerPC processor properly configured and running Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or greater. Note: FastTrack Schedule is optimized for use on Mac OS X version 10.4 and 10.5. - 16 MB or more of random access memory (RAM) - Color monitor with 1024 x 768 resolution or greater - 60 MB or more of available hard disk space - CD-ROM drive or Internet access Installing - Please read carefully as our installation instructions have changed. ---------------------------------------- Follow the directions in the Concurrent-User Essentials Guide. This guide is included on the CD, and is available on the AEC Software web site at http://www.aecsoftware.com/downloads/documents/. To install FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 for Windows: Please note that you must have administrator rights to install software. > From CD-ROM- 1. Insert the FastTrack Schedule CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Wait for a dialog to appear automatically*. 3. Click the Install button. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions. *If the CD AutoRun does not work, do the following: 1. Insert CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. 2. From the Start menu, choose Run. 3. Type "d:\install\disk1\setup.exe" and click OK. (Substitute the letter of your CD-ROM drive, such as "e:\install\disk1\setup"). 4. Follow the on-screen instructions. To install FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 for Macintosh: Please note that you must have administrator rights to install software. > From CD-ROM- 1. Insert the FastTrack Schedule CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Double-click the FastTrack Schedule Start Here icon. 2. Click the Install button to run the installer. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. Installing on a Network ----------------------------------- To install FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 for Windows or Macintosh on a Network: 1. Login as the System Administrator (or its equivalent) for your network. 2. Connect to the destination server or Shared Directory/Folder where you wish FastTrack Schedule to be installed. 3. Follow the directions in the Concurrent-User Essentials Guide. This guide is included on the CD and is available on the AEC Software web site at http://www.aecsoftware.com/downloads/documents/. Once installation is complete, the network administrator needs to: 1. Enter the Concurrent-User version Key Code. 2. Set the application to sharable. Consult your network operating system documentation for the specifics of this procedure, as it varies from network to network. 3. Confirm that the AppData directory within the FastTrack Schedule directory has Read-Write privileges. Demo & Full Application ---------------------------------------- When you install FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 Concurrent User version, you are installing both the fully-enabled application and the demo version. The demo version is a two (2)-user concurrent user version that produces a watermark on any printed FastTrack Schedule document and will not allow you to save files. You can install it on a server, or in a shared directory/folder. - If you have purchased a license, enter the Serial Number (found on the box, the CD envelope, registration card, or confirmation order email if purchased online from AEC Software) when asked to do so. This will enable all features for FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2. - If you have received the program as a demonstration version, no Serial Number will be provided and you should instead type "Demo" when asked to enter the Serial Number. This gives you all the power and flexibility of FastTrack Schedule --however, until you purchase and enter a valid serial number you cannot save schedule files and printed documents will contain a watermark. If after evaluating the FastTrack Schedule you would like to purchase a license for the program, contact our Sales Department at (800) 450-1985 in the US or Canada, or (703) 450-1980, or sales@aecsoftware.com to receive a Serial Number. - To convert the demo version into a fully-enabled program, open the About FastTrack Schedule dialog (located in the Help menu [Windows] or the FastTrack Schedule menu [Macintosh]) and click the "Enter Serial Number" button. Enter your Serial Number in place of the word Demo, click OK, and you now have a fully-enabled license of FastTrack Schedule. To enable concurrent users you must also enter a Key Code. If you are unable to locate your specific Key Code, please contact AEC Software. - Each serial number for this product is valid for one (1) platform only. Consult the original packaging or purchase confirmation to learn the platform for which your serial number is licensed. Required Printer & Video Drivers for Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98SE, and Windows NT 4.0 ---------------------------------------- FastTrack Schedule for Windows was designed as a full 32-bit product for Windows. Many printer manufacturers and video manufacturers need to provide updated drivers for the Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98SE, and Windows NT 4.0. Some have been more prompt than others in addressing these issues. As this is a worldwide issue, users should check with the manufacturers of their printers and video drivers for these environments. A convenient way to do so is to check the manufacturer's Internet web site for updated drivers, as most manufacturers now make these updated drivers available free of charge. ***Note to Upgrading Windows and Macintosh Users*** ---------------------------------------- IMPORTANT FOR WINDOWS: It will be necessary to update all VBA scripts written prior to version 9 of FastTrack Schedule. Opening Microsoft Project MPP and MPT Files ---------------------------------------- FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 opens Microsoft Project (.mpp) files. MPP is Microsoft Project's proprietary file format for storing project data. Opening MPP and MPT files in FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 is the quickest and most convenient way to acquire data from a Microsoft Project file. When you open a Microsoft Project file, FastTrack Schedule converts the original file information to native FastTrack Schedule (.fts) information through MPX. Where opening MPP and MPT files does not yield acceptable results, it is suggested that data exchange be accomplished through XML. NOTE: FastTrack Schedule 9.2.2 does not support links to or from summary bars. Data exchange between Microsoft Project and FastTrack Schedule is also possible by through XML, MPX, and ASCII (.txt) file formats. FastTrack Schedule supports the ability to both open and save in these data formats.
